Cold Weather

In cold weather you will want to wear layered clothing with warm shoes. In more moderate climates you still want to wear clothes adequate for hiking (no sandals) just in case we have to walk out of some light brush after landing. We do not fly intoxicated passengers. No alcohol is allowed in flight, and you can never smoke in or around the aircraft due to nature of our fuel.

Preparation

We strongly recommend that all passengers wear a cap or simple hat due to the radiant heat of our burner system. We always fly at sunrise. Sunrise changes by one or two minutes every day. Be sure to call sixty minutes before flight time to confirm the weather is good for flight. Please follow prompts for flight confirmation. Post flight festivities and celebration are encouraged. We are not responsible for personal possessions, cameras, glasses, purses etc. on the ground or in the air. Bring lots of film and enjoy the flight!

Special Needs

We require that you inform us of any handicaps, pregnancies, recent surgeries or frailty of health in general. The weight we lift is an important consideration. If you weigh over two hundred pounds please inform us as soon as possible. We can lift a total passenger weight of nine hundred pounds and fly as many as four people per flight.


Flight Schedule

Reservations required; Subject to availability. 72 hr cancellation policy.

Although flights are considered a success once we have launched, flight’s generally last forty-five to sixty minutes. Duration of flights is largely determined by available landing options. We do not pass on a good landing option to stay airborne for five or ten minutes longer.

Dates should be booked well in advance. Weekend flights fill up four to eight weeks in advance. Leaf season flights should be booked as far in advance as possible.

We will fly over downtown Asheville only when weather conditions permit. There are times that the weather in downtown is not suitable for flight, but weather in surrounding areas will be ideal for flight. Launch options vary daily and there is no guarantee that we will fly over Asheville. In the event we cannot fly over Asheville but can fly elsewhere we do not refund or reschedule we simply launch for a successful flight.

If the weather does not permit us to fly we will try our best to reschedule your flight as soon as possible.
